Bridget turns 9 Months

Already, poor Bridgey is experiencing "Second Child Syndrome" as I'm so far behind on her blog posts! So, future Bridget, please forgive you poor tired mom... and it's all your sister's fault! She's running me ragged these days (mostly because she doesn't nap anymore... nor does she every stop!) Also, forgive whatever spelling, grammar, general readability mistakes - I'm struggling to get these out!

Anyway.... 9 Months!

Vitals: Bridget is again in the 18 lb range. Comfortably wearing size 12 month clothes. She has 5 teeth (3 on the top, 2 on the bottom) and I swear more are coming - well, at the very least the other top tooth. Thus, continuing the 4-5 months of straight teething!

Accomplishments: Bridget is in near constant motion when she is awake. If she's on the floor she's off and into everything floor level. There is really no sign of crawling, she gets around everywhere by army crawling. Pulling herself with her right arm and pushing with her right toe. It's pretty funny. But, we've had to reassess everything on the floor as B has probably found it and attempted to eat it if it's lying around. Diaper changes and getting dressed have become a speed competition for me. She never likes to be pinned down, she wants to be FREE! (Getting this month's photos was a challenge... she barely sat still... nor did Abby... which didn't help!)

Sleep: When Bridget moved into her own room nighttimes drastically improved... until they didn't. We had a week, 10-days, where it was a nightmare to sleep again. One night, yet again, I think I was only sleeping in 2h chunks... for a total of 4-5 hours! Not cool Bridgey!  But, generally, I think we are on the up swing. Naps are great still. B still takes a 2-4h nap around midday and then maybe another shorter one when D gets home (if the first one is short). Bridget is a big fan of her soother for sleeping, as well as her satin-edged blanket.

Likes: Bridget is loving all sorts of things now. She's developing interest in more of her environment and as such, she likes books, music, chewing things! She likes the bath now and will splash on command! She likes to kick and doesn't mind when her face gets wet. Abby and Bridget will frequently take baths together, which is a lot easier now that B can sit up independently. Abby still is the one to get Bridget laughing uncontrollably. Although, D and I have found she is very ticklish and use that to generate loads of laughter.

Food: we are getting a lot better at eating. Still we are not as voracious as Abby was, in terms of eating and trying new foods. Meat is a favourite, as are broccoli, carrots, pears, apples and cucumber. But many days we can take it or leave it with food.

Personality: D and I joke that B is so pleasant during the daytime. She has smiles for *almost* everyone (after she stares you down first!). She interacts and responds to you now. She'll give hugs (lean into you and cuddle into your neck). Bridget is such a doll until the sun goes down.... then, well, it could go either way!  Oh well. We love her. She fits right into this mad house and adds to our chaos!

And Abby (cape, tutu, necklace and tank-top and shorts in November and all - and, no it wasn't a warm day, this is just how A likes to get herself dressed!)
