Bridget Turns 12 Months

Happy 1 year Bridget Baby!

It's been an awesome and crazy year and we are so glad to have a smiley, funny little girl in our lives.

Vitals: Bridget is 19.1lbs and 28 inches (she's apparently short for her age group - but I think the Dr caught her right before a growth spurt... because she isn't short compared to the other 1 year olds we know!). We still are sitting at 7 teeth... that bottom tooth refuses to come up and even out her smile.

Accomplishments: This month, Bridget has been on the move. She's cruising everywhere. She wants to go go go. She can walk with assistance (either holding our hands or pushing something), but she isn't took keen to let go! She's pulling up all over the place, and if we aren't watching, she's crawling up the stairs. We found out that she could do the stairs one day while we were cooking and I turned around to look for Bridget and she'd managed to crawl halfway up our stairs! We now have the stairs blocked with a Ikea floating shelf and an ironing board.

Bridget is also making her wishes known. She's using sign language a lot now. More, Please, All Done, and Milk are her most used signs. She waves and claps all the time now. She is a big talker as well. She can say: Mama, Dada, Abba, and babbles all the time. She also loves to squeal when she laughs. Bridget also loves to make silly noises and faces. She's mimicking a lot of what we (especially Abby) do to her.

Sleep: We have finally begun to turn a corner as far as sleep is concerned. Bridget is dropping her midnight-1am wake up and is only really getting up 2x a night. Usually, it's a quick feed and back to sleep. She still gets one midday nap for about 3h.

Likes: Bridget's favourite things these days are books. She can sit and read her books for a long time and loves her book at bed time (we are working on the sign for book). She still loves Abby and loves to be around her and playing along side her big sister, especially when Abby is playing with her toy kitchen. Bridget loves to pull up on the kitchen and pull everything out of the cupboards. (PS - the medal bowls make a "hilarious" sound as they ricochet off the tile or hardwood floors. It's a favourite game to smack those things around!) I also have another music lover. Bridget loves to sing and dance. She loves when Abby sings and dances too. The two of them are so cute when they get dancing and Bridget is shaking her booty!

Bath time is still a favourite time. Bridget will pull herself up on the tub and start picking at her clothes - get these off me, Mom! And when she's nudie, she's trying to climb into the bathtub.

Mealtimes are still a bit of a struggle. She's up to eating 3x a day, but is fairly picky about what she eats. We often find we are giving her the baby food squeezies to fill her up. She also love Cheerios, I can't go down the cereal or baby food aisle without Bridget pointing and signing "more, more, please, please" over and over.

Personality: We've got a talker on our hands. Bridget babbles all day and she really wants you to know "something" - it's just we haven't quite figured out what she's trying to communicate as of yet. She's still quick to smile and laugh and loves to be tickled.  She's very ticklish. I definitely don't have a sit and play girl. Bridget is constantly wanting to go go go. She does not like to be held or cuddled! Bridget is turning out to be exactly like her big sister in personality. She's headstrong, active, smiley and silly. I'm going to have my hands full for the next few decades, but honestly, would I want it any other way?
