Abby Turns 3

Can you believe it? - my big girl has turned 3!

The day Abby turned three, she ran into our room when she woke up (usually she stumbles in) and yells "I went to bed and woked up and now I'm three!"

And tucking Abby in the night after her party, she says to me: "that was a perfect, perfect, perfect, perfect day."

Stats: Height - 38.5 inches tall and 31lbs

Favourite Colour: Blue (but it's always the black crayon when she colours)

Favourite activities: Colouring, dancing, dressing-up, reading stories

Favourite books: (any one you are willing to read!!) Jillian Jiggs, The Balloon Tree, Curious George

Favourite toys: monkey (who she sleeps with), Baby Jenna and Baby Zoe (dolls), Duplo, Play-doh, her play kitchen, doctor kit

Favourite foods: cupcakes (chocolate mint), chicken wings, avocado, sweet potatoes, yogurt, pulled pork tacos

Loves: being outdoors and going for bicycle rides; doing "triathlons" in the house (running around the house in tri gear); making food in her kitchen; play-dates with BFF Kaitlyn and Emily; playing doctor with mommy and listening to the baby in my tummy; singing, making up songs and dancing

Knows: all the letters and what sounds they make (asks what does "wa-wa-water start with? W?); working on numbers - misses 7,8 counting to 10 sometimes and 16, 17, 18 when counting to 20 most of the time; knows full names of mom and dad and Abby

Personality: funny, clever (to an obnoxious level), sassy, silly, helpful, active, imaginative and creative

Year's highlights: Moved to a big girl bed (twice! - from the crib to toddler bed and then to a twin); potty-trained; two separate over-night stays without Mom and Dad at Nana and Papa's and Gramma and Grampa's; ran two fun runs; got a new car; went to Florida; had a Dragons Love Tacos birthday party

Funny Abby sayings this year:

"I no touch wiggly worm, mommy" while on a rainy walk

May
"Mommy, stay here. Do kitchen." As she and Dustin leave to go grocery shopping

July
Mommy-gail, Daddy-gail (as in Abby-gail/Abigail), seems to be a term of endearment

Aug
"Mommy, don't say my whys" when we turn the why game back on her
"Daddy, take a picture of Mommy growling in the potty" - while Mommy is experiencing morning sickness

Sept
"Say again, mommy?" (no "what?" from a ATC's kid)
"My baby is making my tummy feel sore" (when she had a tummy ache)
"Mommy, I need ice cream to make my poops feel better"

Oct
Dustin (yelling upstairs to A after she ran away instead of doing something): "Abby, come down here so I can beat you?"; Abby: "No daddy, you come up here so you can beat me!"
Abby high-fives the baby, by smacking my belly
"My baby's name is Broccoli" (Baby Broccoli will stick for the rest of the pregnancy)

Nov
Kit-Kat bars = "to-get-ers"
Lasagna = "zombie"
Says "too bad, sucka" to me out of no where
Forget/Forgot = "for-to-get" as in "We for-to-get my water. Can you get my water?"
If you'd like = "If you can want it"

Dec
"Daddy, does your peanuts touch the water?" (ask D for the rest of that hilarious story!)

Jan
Imaginary friends begin in the form of "monsters" (some friendly and some naughty)
Abby's work is "Skylie" (?? no clue, but it's apparently by daddy's work)

Happy 3rd Birthday, Abster!
