Look at these Canadian Cuties!
This summer we had a pretty fun and busy long weekend. Abby was looking forward to Canada Day, as her "Candada"shirt is one of her favourite shirts and we've been talking about where she lives and such.
So, the day started with finding our "Candada" shirts and enjoying the beautiful weather. We stayed outside for much of the day. That night we walked to a nearby park where there were probably 30 families gathered, for a remarkable fireworks display. We found out later that a local family (group of families) gather money or fireworks and pool resources to put on a display in one of the big parks. It was one of those experiences that make us really happy to live in our neighbourhood. Abby was a little trepidatious of the fireworks at first, but really started to enjoy them. As I mentioned, they were fantastic. The whole show lasted about 45 minutes! Bridget was great too. She slept in the carrier for some, and then woke up to watch the show too.

| At one point during the fireworks I looked down to see if B was still sleeping and this is the face I saw! She was rather in awe of the whole experience. |

For the rest of the weekend, we tried to enjoy the fantastic weather. We took B for her first swim. There were tears at first, but then seconds later she was fine and just chilled in her floaty for probably close to 30 minutes. A was in heaven. She loves swimming now and really loved the freedom of swimming with her floaty. She was all over the pool - back and forth. It was great to watch!
Finally, as I was out for my run one day, I noticed a bucket of Duplo on the side of the road with a "free" sign on it. We picked it up and spend an afternoon cleaning the Duplo, which also lead to A cleaning all of her kitchen toys and a multitude of other toys (what is it about playing with water that kids just love!). After all the Duplo was clean, of course it was time to play and build. It was a great weekend and even more fun because we were able to spend the majority of it outside!

| And, of course, the weekend wouldn't be complete without ice cream cones (and goatees!) |
