This year we had a pretty good Halloween. Abby decided she wanted to be a fairy, which she has been pretending to be most of the year anyway. So, a quick trip to buy wings and new fairy dress and we were basically set for her. Abby's favourite part of her costume was probably her eye make-up. I bought her a set of glitter eye shadows, which I just put around her eye and on top of her cheek and she loved it. She then wanted eye shadow on everyday!
Bridget was my little broccoli! I figure she's lived with the name so long, she might as well BE broccoli. With a little bit of yarn (made into a hat covered with pompoms) and a green tracksuit - we had broccoli. At least she'd be warm with that giant hat!
Halloween day we did our usual trick-or-treating downtown Oakville. We went with Susan and Emily and had a lot of fun, it was great that the weather was pretty nice too.
Halloween afternoon, D thought he could carve 3 pumpkins in a couple of hours. Well, it came down to the last few minutes before all three Paw Patrol pumpkins were carved and lit and on the front steps, but they were there and done. It makes a huge difference having Halloween on a weekday verses the weekend!
That night, as we did last year, we went with our neighbour Benjamin (stormtrooper). This year, the dad's stayed home and handed out candy for the first half of the night, then we swapped out once Bridget had had enough riding around in the stroller.
Abby had a great night and she was exhausted by the time she got home! We still have candy too (even weeks after) - so I know she enjoyed being out with her friends more than getting the candy!
